How to Install Your Layers Wrap Kit

Every Layers Wrap design is created to deliver a premium, seamless finish — but the final look depends on how it’s installed. Our wraps and decals come as uncut printed sheets, allowing flexibility across models and curves. Follow the right method (dry or wet) for your vinyl type, and take your time for a clean, bubble-free result.
What You’ll Need
  • Heat gun or hair dryer
  • Squeegee (or a clean card wrapped in microfiber)
  • Isopropyl alcohol or mild surface cleaner
  • Microfiber cloth
  • Cutter / sharp blade (for trimming & tucking)
  • Spray bottle (for wet installs)

    Step 1: Surface Preparation

  • Wipe down with isopropyl alcohol to remove oils or grease.
  • Ensure the surface is completely dry and cool to the touch.
  • (Avoid direct sunlight during installation.)

Step 2: Application Method - Opaque Vinyl

    Dry Pasting

  • Best for matte, gloss, or textured opaque films.
  • Peel off a small section of the backing paper and align carefully.
  • Stick lightly at one end to hold position.
  • Using your squeegee, press from the center outward, working in slow passes.
  • Use gentle heat to soften the vinyl — this helps it conform around curves and edges.
  • For corners or recessed panels, heat and tuck the vinyl properly using your fingers or a soft tool.
  • Trim excess carefully with a sharp blade for a factory-like finish.
  • Reheat tucks and edges to seal the adhesive fully.

Step 2: Application Method - Transparent Vinyl

    Wet Pasting

  • Used for clear or see-through vinyl wraps that need sliding and repositioning.
  • Mix 1–2 drops of mild shampoo in a spray bottle of clean water.
  • Mist the surface and the adhesive side of the vinyl lightly.
  • Position the film on your vehicle and adjust alignment.
  • Once positioned, use your squeegee to remove water and air from the center outwards.
  • Apply gentle heat to speed up drying and improve adhesion.
  • Allow 24 hours of curing time before washing or exposing to moisture.

    Step 3: Tucking & Finishing
  • Use mild heat around edges, curves, and panel gaps to soften the vinyl.
  • Tuck the film smoothly into crevices using your fingers or a felt-edged squeegee.
  • Trim precisely, leaving a small margin tucked in for durability.
  • After completing the wrap, go over all edges again with low heat to seal the adhesive.
  • Let it rest for 24–48 hours before washing or waxing.
